Life Skills Program

We prepare children, not for exam but life

Life Skills programme is designed to encourage children to interact freely on a topic or to address specific concerns. Through this programme, students learn to appreciate perspectives other than their own, develop critical thinking, decision-making, empathy, along with a myriad of social and emotional skills. Modules are undertaken wherein children get opportunities to hone such skills through role-play, teamwork, debates, and group-discussions.

Homework

Learning to learn independently

Homework and project work are assigned to reinforce what is learnt during school hours so as to help children work independently. Parent support is also solicited to ensure that the assignment is completed.

Inclusive Education

Balance of physical and mental health

We believe that every child has a right to learn and create experience to help children understand one another.

SES GURUKUL is an inclusive school (children with varying learning abilities are welcome).

Children often overcome the levels of difficulties with continuous and supervised practice throughout their schooling years.

Children diagnosed with emotional, social, and academic problems are counselled and referred for an educational assessment. This enables the School Counsellor to guide the parents and their children effectively.

Extra-curricular Activities

Balance of physical and mental health

Apart from academics, extra-curricular activities such as sports, music and theatre play a vital role in the holistic development of children. Therefore, students are given opportunities to select and learn a number of activities.

The table below details the class-wise list of activities offered:

I – IV : Skating, Games, Global Awareness Programme

3. It is mandatory for every student to choose at least one sport.

Academic Assessments

How much have I learnt?

The assessment process at SES GURUKUL is designed to provide feedback to teachers, students, and parents about the effectiveness of the teaching methodology. The purpose is to identify specific learning needs and modify the teaching strategies to meet these needs.

For Primary and Secondary students, all classwork and homework assignments, projects, and participation in co-curricular activities are recorded and graded periodically.

Evaluation

Formal testing procedures are followed only for Std. VI to Std. X.
This is done to:

  • Help children enjoy the teaching-learning process
  • Reduce the pressure and enable the children to learn at their pace without feeling threatened and at the same time prepare for exams in a stress-free environment.

Please note:

The test schedules are notified to parents through the student’s diary, ten days prior to the test. A minimum of 50% is required to pass each subject.
