Welcome to Saraswati Educational Society GURUKUL.

The Saraswati Educational Society is the brainchild of people passionate about children and their development. This was further conceived and conceptualised to merge the ancient ‘gurukula’ system with the emerging trends of the modern-day education system. Strong determination, persistence, faith, and sincere efforts of like-minded enthusiasts further led to the foundation of the Saraswati Educational Society, the authority under which SES GURUKUL operates.
The key founders Dr. Prakash Bhave (a practicing Radiologist), Mrs. Mrinmayee Bhave (Founder of Daffodils Nursery School, Ex – Teacher of Jnana Prabodhini, Pune), and Mrs. Vineeta Nagarkar (former Vice Principal of Jnana Prabhodini, Pune) firmly believed in the principles of “learning through life”. Their shared vision and commitment laid the foundation for SES GURUKUL, where education goes beyond academics to nurture the overall development of every child.
Making of SES GURUKUL
Legacy

- SES GURUKUL was established in 1992 as Maharashtra’s first day-boarding school, with a vision to nurture children in a holistic and supportive learning environment. From its humble beginnings with just two students, the school has grown into a vibrant community of 1,000+ alumni who have stepped into the world as confident, well-rounded individuals.
- Offering education from Std. I to Std. X, SES GURUKUL focuses on the holistic development of every child, meeting their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs while recognising and celebrating their individuality.
- Set adjacent to the expansive grounds of the Agricultural College, the school’s distinctive campus is designed to resemble a railway station, complete with real railway coaches that house classrooms. This unique setting adds an element of curiosity, creativity, and wonder to everyday learning.
- At the heart of GURUKUL is a safe, nurturing environment where children build meaningful relationships with their teachers and staff. They are encouraged to learn and grow at their own pace, guided by their abilities, interests, and individual learning needs.
- Rooted in a strong tradition and culture of innovation, SES GURUKUL fosters an inclusive and personalised approach to education. Children with diverse abilities and aptitudes learn together, receive individual attention, and are empowered to discover their strengths making GURUKUL not just a school, but a vibrant home of learning and growth.
Curriculum
The curriculum places the child at the centre of the learning process, encouraging active participation and meaningful engagement. Children are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, and connect classroom learning with real-life experiences, helping them move beyond rote memorisation. Lessons and activities are thoughtfully designed to nurture curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- In a fast-changing world and an increasingly competitive global context, we believe it is essential to value and respect children’s innate wisdom, imagination, and unique perspectives.
- Moving from the ‘known to the unknown,’ ‘concrete to abstract,’ and ‘local to global,’ we strive to make learning meaningful by connecting classroom knowledge with real-life experiences.
- Play is serious business and, therefore, an integral part of life at Gurukul. It promotes joyful learning while contributing to every child’s overall growth and development. Through sports, yoga, and games, children develop stamina, fine and gross motor skills, self-awareness, self-control, coordination, and teamwork.
- Cooperative and project-based learning encourage children to appreciate diverse perspectives and develop empathy by understanding the thoughts and feelings of others. These approaches also nurture strong moral values, collaboration, independence, and a sense of responsibility, contributing to the child’s holistic development.
